Now to coddiwomple ( my new favourite word) towards a different body of ceramic work…
When I sailed unchartered seas firing with the ash from the Kimberley and again with ash of local grape vines, I had no idea they would be my most challenging ceramic journeys. I was happy enough with the end results but it for me it is all about the journey and how much l learn along the way. I think as a potter it’s best to have no ego and know that you’ll never get to the end of the vast ceramic spectrum in a lifetime.
Best to coddiwomple and simply enjoy.

Dinner plates for made here by me and glazed with a recipe given to me by a wonderful potter while we were in Stockholm.
Braclet threads are from the beautiful wedding, a year ago in March.
One on my right wrist has been exposed to clay almost every day and is still strong. I’m wondering how all the others are?

Bubbles….
A simple wood ash glaze and the what the kiln gifted.
The ash could be containing too high carbonates or maybe the clay body off-gassed late in the firing, trapping the bubbles.
Whatever happened, these are such perfect little bubbles.

They hold incense, a sprig or can be used for holding name tags at a special dinner or just be loved for their bluebirds of happiness.
